Introduction
Labelled by EIT and coordinated by EIT Manufacturing (EITM) in collaboration with ten university partners, the EIT Manufacturing Master School offers a comprehensive international double degree program in various manufacturing topics, attracting a diverse range of talented individuals. This two-year Master’s program involves studying at two different universities, enabling students to earn two degrees – one from each university.
Towards the end of the programme, student’s final thesis will revolve around an industrial project that holds significance in the field of manufacturing, both practically and scientifically. The student will have the opportunity to develop and work on this project at the company’s premises.
About the Open Call
This open call aims to gather industrial thesis projects from companies interested in hosting one or more students for the upcoming spring/summer 2024.
- The submitted proposals will undergo a thorough review and evaluation process conducted by the University partners of the EITM Master School.
- Following the assessment, the projects will be assigned to students in collaboration with the respective companies, ensuring the best possible match between the company’s thesis project and the student’s expertise.
- While the students may be based in a limited number of EU countries, companies from across Europe, regardless of their size (including startups), are welcome to propose thesis projects.
- During the evaluation and matching phase, the EITM Master School will take into account any potential barriers preventing students from traveling to the company premises and will explore alternative students or solutions accordingly.

Important information to know before applying for the Open Call!
- Location: Companies proposing the thesis projects must have an office within Europe
- Hosting: Companies are requested to host the student(s) at their premises
- Sponsorship: Although companies are not obliged to sponsor the student, they can provide additional sponsorship on a voluntary basis
- Mentoring: A supervisor from the company should be assigned to support and mentor the student during the work who will also act as a reference for the EITM Master School
- Duration: 5 months (750 hours in total, including time for the thesis documentation preparation)
