Call for external contributors to cope with Water Scarcity in Southern Europe
EIT Manufacturing, EIT Food, EIT Climate-KIC and EIT Digital and are looking for external contributors in the role of experts and mentors to support them in the implementation of the Cross-KIC initiative “Finding innovative solutions for water scarcity in Southern Europe”.
Experts’ role
On the one hand, the EIT KICs are looking to select 45 experts with relevant education and professional experience in the warer sector in Southern Europe. The 45 experts will integrate the Body of Knowledge (BoK) and will form a pool of experts acting as ambassadors of the Project. Some of them could be assigned to delivering of some actions as described in the main document.
The experts should have at least one of the following profiles:
• Policy/governance experts: Individuals highly familiarized with European Water Framework Directive, as well as national, regional, and local initiatives on water scarcity in Southern Europe, especially for the key countries directly targeted in the Project: Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Malta.
• Tech experts. Individuals highly familiarized with state-of-the-art technologies and market trends. Several sectors will be represented, including water management, water use in agriculture, water efficiency in manufacturing and raw materials, water treatment and distribution.
• Private sector experts: individuals with extensive experience in working with private sector companies in the water sector and other economic sector with challenges relevant to water scarcity.
• Financing experts: Individuals with deep knowledge on public financing schemes (i.e., Horizon Europe, public procurement, etc.) as well as private financing opportunities (credits, angel investors, funds, VCs, etc.).
Mentors’ role
On the other hand, the EIT KICs are looking for 40 mentors to support innovators on the water sector. More specifically, we are looking for a a variety of profiles, ideally senior executives who have the network, the experience, and the skills to bring the most value to the startups / scaleups / SMEs we work with; serial entrepreneurs with experience in business growth; Venture Capitalists; industrial parties, and business consultants with experience in water technologies.
With their experience, mentors will support startups, scaleups and innovative SMEs in the upscale, demonstration and commercialisation of their solutions to tacke water-related challenges.
