Call for Interest – Gazelle Accelerator programme

EIT Manufacturing invites you to participate in the following Call of Interest to SMEs and Start-Ups, as part of Gazelle Accelerator programme, business acceleration activity 2020.

What we do

Gazelle Accelerator aims to support existing technology-based companies, SMEs and Start-ups, by accelerating and scaling-up their international business and innovation capacities. Gazelle Accelerator will select in total 50 Start-ups and SMEs through 2 open calls in 2020. Each call is oriented to specific technologies fields, centre of interest of European corporates, identified by EIT Manufacturing and Gazelle Accelerator.

At Q1 2020, Gazelle Accelerator has identified, through a private survey, current needs and challenges from EIT Manufacturing network, which includes European manufacturing corporates and Link Third Parties; among which, Volkswagen, COMAU, Safran, Liebherr, Whirpool, Airbus, Total, KUKA, Siemens, Prima Industrie, SD Tech Micro and ArcelorMittal.

What is this Open Call about?

The First Open Call for Gazelle Accelerator asks for proposals from existing technology-based companies (notably SMEs or Start Ups) aiming to present innovative technologies to answer the Use Cases defined by European corporates. Such technologies may involve but are not limited to:

  • Analytics & Artificial Intelligence

  • Internet of Things

  • Simulation & Augmented/Virtual Reality

  • Sustainable Manufacturing

Getting closer to our society and industrial priorities

Moreover, Gazelle Accelerator, aiming to reach and get in alignment with latest society and industrial priorities; enlarges its challenges to contribute at solving most urgent sanitarian and economic crisis in the industry sector, caused by COVID-19 outbreak.

Industries and businesses, as they will transition back into post coronavirus crisis, will be confronted to new challenges that will prioritize solutions towards accelerate automation, new ways of working, effective remote working, virtual work and digital environment, among others; above traditional office and industry settings.

Gazelle Accelerator will therefore encourage and value proposals that are focused on providing solutions to help industries to face impact by coronavirus and accommodate to new emerging-tech-enabled business models.

Participate to our Call of Interest and benefit from Gazelle Accelerator programme

If you are a SME or Start-up having innovative solutions in above technologies and you are looking to scaleup your business, you are welcome to propose solutions through our Call of Interest and benefit from a support programme by Gazelle Accelerator. Selected Start-ups and SMEs participating will benefit from:

  • Business development support: Business coaching with experts, B2B events with European corporates, access to finance through Investors and finance days

  • Innovation support: Integration to the EIT Manufacturing innovation project funding calls led by EIT Manufacturing members, new innovation collaboration opportunities with other European Start-ups and SMEs of the programme

  • Internationalisation support: Facilitate the business development in other European countries with the network partners of EIT Manufacturing

Get to know your matching corporates in our matchmaking online event

Following step after Call of Interest completion, is to provide an environment of matching between companies in our Gazelle Accelerator event.

First opportunity for matchmaking between corporates and selected SMEs and Start-Ups will be our Gazelle Accelerator online event, taking place between June 22nd and 26th 2020. This event will include activities that goes from business coaching with experts, access to market and access to finance; through a Community Booster Camp, Roadshow session and Finance and Investors session.

Last but not least

Gazelle Accelerator invites legal entities, SMEs and Start-ups, from all Europe to participate in the call. All the entities must:

  • Be from the respective country that they will apply for

  • Be eligible for EU funding according to Horizon 2020 rules

  • Have solutions with TRL ≥ 7
