Simulation-based training for accident prevention in the automotive industry

Simulation-based training for accident prevention in the automotive industry- [VR Sustain]

VR-SUSTAIN provides a training environment for students, trainees, and industry workers towards the prevention of accidents in manufacturing processes. Virtual Reality is applied to provide hands-on experience in an off-site environment for simulation-based training. VR-SUSTAIN is focused on two scenarios from the automotive industry: (1) the prevention of health hazards, scratches, and dents in the assembly line; and (2) the prevention of accidents when handling electronic equipment. The main objectives are to improve the quality and efficiency of academic and industrial training, to engage young professionals into manufacturing jobs, to reduce work-related injuries and damage to equipment and products, to improve the media competence of trainers and users, and to improve the academic knowledge on industrial requirements towards the application of Virtual Reality devices in the European manufacturing industry.
